GoodRx vs RxSaver
Which pharmacy discount card can save you the most money?
The Winner: RxSaver
RxSaver is one of the newest pharmacy discount cards available, and it’s one of the better options out there. RetailMeNot acquired LowestMed back in 2018 and rebranded it as RxSaver. Consistent pricing is a common complaint among pharmacy discount cardholders, but RxSaver has the same low price available at several pharmacies. What’s more? RxSaver had lower prices than GoodRx 7 times out of 10—sometimes with just a cent difference.

As you can see from the comparison chart above, RetailMeNot’s RxSaver and GoodRx are highly competitive. Both provide free discounts to all pharmacy customers regardless of their insurance or income level. With either card, customers can save up to 80% on their prescription drugs at over thousands of pharmacies. However, it’s not clear how many pharmacies RxSaver partners with.
You don’t even have to sign up to access coupons from GoodRx or RxSaver. Both offer a free app to iOS and Android users, making pharmacy discounts convenient for any smartphone user.
You’re probably wondering: Are these cards legitimate? The answer is yes. GoodRx and RxSaver are accredited businesses and they’ve both aced the BBB’s test in terms of ratings.
So, how do they compare? GoodRx is probably the better-known brand given RxSaver’s recent acquisition. It certainly has more reviews than RxSaver, however, the customer ratings are neck and neck at 4.5 out of 5 stars.
The key factor in comparing pharmacy discount cards like RxSaver and GoodRx is the amount of money you’ll save on prescriptions. Despite its “newness”, RxSaver beat GoodRx prices 70% of the time. Plus, the same low price on RxSaver is available at multiple pharmacies. Prednisone, for example, is just $2 with a RxSaver coupon at nine pharmacies while the same prescription costs $4.83 with GoodRx at just one pharmacy.
